PLEASE NOTE: Every wooden product that we make is made from reclaimed wood.
We have a few Easter products that might spice up your Easter a little bit. Here are some pictures. If you’re interested in any of them, go buy them now before there all sold out!
We work so hard on our products so if you’ve had a successful purchase please leave a review on Etsy, Google, or Facebook and make sure to tell friends and family about us if you did it would make our day!
Most of our products involve cutting the wood, painting the base colour waiting for it to dry, and then painting the design so as you can probably imagen each one of our products takes a long time to make.
We don’t just make Easter products so go have little brows on the website to see if anything else tickles your fancy. If you have any questions don’t be scared to ask, we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Looking for something particular, but we don’t sell it? Well, we do custom orders so just ask us if we can make what you’re looking for and we will see what we can do.
Hope you enjoy your Easter decorations!
All of this was written by Georgia as dad and Kasia haven’t been updating it in a while.
So lazy! Am I right?

One photo can be powerful enough to not only remind you of an event or detail, but can bring you right back to the feelings, sounds, and even smells of the moment.

]]>We finally did one!!
What a weekend! We had so much fun at the Rushden Lakes Handmade and Vintage Fair last weekend, despite the atrocious weather. It seems like a long time ago now, but all of last week, during the build up, we were getting more and more nervous. As the fair was running over two weekends, and we were on the second, we had a cheeky visit the week before to scope out the competition (or just look for inspiration) and we were amazed by the amount of people there. This just added to the pressure and excitement. We also realised that we didn't have any sign to tell people who we are... cue up the first panic! Luckily, the awesome people at Koh Designs were able to design and turn around an awesome banner in super quick time and enabling us to look extra professional on the stall.
Another problem, well, not really a bad problem, a nice problem if you will, but one of our amazing customers ordered 22 rainbows in that week too which meant that our stall stock was heavily diminished - that'll be some late nights then! Drilling, sanding, painting and waxing ourselves to sleep but we did it and the display looked great - even if I do say so myself!
So the night before our 5am wake up was pretty much sleepless - a mixture of excitement and panic that we either didn't have enough stock and that we would sell out in minutes (a very optimistic worry) or not selling a thing and it looking very amateur.
In the morning, bleary eyed, we piled on the layers, loaded up with coffee and some breakfast and packed the car. The whole thing went pretty smoothly and before we knew it we were set up and welcoming the first people having a browse.
We ended up freezing our pants off but having a great time. The other stall holders were all very friendly, especially next door to us. Nicola of Peony & Pine was really lovely and lots of encouraging advice for us. We would really like to thank her again for her support and chat all weekend.
Thanks also to all of our family and friends that came along to support us through the weekend.
All in all, a brilliant first experience and now we are raring to go for the next one! Bring on Wicksteed on the 21st. (Covid permitting!)
Lessons to take forward:

]]>Today was our first really nice frosty day after a couple of days of thick fog, I love walking Keira and crunching through the crispy grass. These morning walks give me time to reflect and plan what we will be working on during the day. Today's jobs included picture frames and centre piece boxes in preparation for the fair at Rushden Lakes this weekend (this will be our first after the previous two were cancelled - third time lucky - and we are going no matter what; lock down 3, earthquake, alien invasion, I don't care we will be there even if no one else is!)
As the weather turns colder, my little heaters are struggling and I'm having to work extra hard just to keep warm - I know why Father Christmas' elves are so productive now! I don't want to throw more energy at the problem so, as well as thinking warm thoughts of beaches and sunshine I've also decided on my next project and wondering where I can get some insulation from and start to turn the little workshop into an efficient eco space.
Kasia on the other hand is sat our toasty kitchen putting the finishing touches on another 56 rainbow tree hangings and knows not of the struggle.
We will post some pictures of the Rushden Lakes fair (to prove we made it!) after the weekend.
Love.

]]>I have read many times that successful people are not necessarily the most intelligent or experienced, but those who are able to adapt when things don't go to plan. Well, with that in mind, this week has certainly been our first challenge. We should have been getting ready for our first ever craft fair and our first opportunity to meet some of you lovely people. Unfortunately, Lockdown 2 has meant that this has been postponed to the 5/6 December. Obviously, the lockdown had been determined to be the best course of action and we want to do everything we can to reduce the spread of the virus so it’s a strange emotion to deal with.
The redirection of our focus went into making the website as good as can be before launching on Tuesday. This involved turning my mums, brothers and our houses into studios for photo shoots with little bubbles of Christmas popping up here and there - much to the delight of Kasia and the kids. I have finally conceded and agreed that next weekend we can decorate one room for Christmas (just for product photos you understand). We have a few more Christmas products in development and can’t wait to present them to you!

]]>We have come a long way in our Bosing adventure already and it's only been a few months! We have lots to share with you but I'd better start at the beginning...
What a few months it’s been! When I lost my job in May, in the midst of the Pandemic, I didn't have much hope for finding a new role. After a couple of weeks of applying for jobs, contacting agencies etc and with no leads, things were looking very bleak indeed. Then Kasia's company announced redundancies and it looked likely that her job would be one of the ones to be chopped. This year was on track to be a complete disaster.
Wanting to make the most of the abundance of time I had available, I started reading and training in various things engineering related also enrolling in a career transitions course. This course made me think differently about what I could do with my life and that a career in engineering was not the only thing I could be doing...
When our fears were realised and Kasia was made redundant in August, we were both out of work in a very difficult market.
Once the house was spotless and all those DIY jobs that hang around for years were done, we found ourselves able to do what we both really like doing.
At this point we drew a line under all the negative events and feelings and turned our love of creating into something we could be proud of and share with others.
-----------------------------------Line of positivity 😊----------------------------
This started out as a couple of upcycling jobs that we found at a local reclamation yard. We loved spending time in the sunny garden working on these projects and we realised that this is what we want to do for a living.
Once we made our first heart shaped wine bottle and glass holder and received great interest from them, we started to build some of the ideas that we had been harboring for some time. We sold some dog lead hangers, pet equipment organisers and some picture frames to friends and family which made us feel that there was some scope to turn this into a source of income.
We knew that sustainability had to be at the heart of what we do so we set out looking for sources of materials we could use for our projects; used pallets, reclaimed wood and surplus building timber that would have been sent to the tip are our primary materials.
Once we had this in place, we needed an outlet and a brand to get our stuff out there. Bosing Designs was born and we set up on Etsy, Instagram and Facebook. We had some business cards made and have been handing them out to everyone we interact with – sometimes more than once. Now the conversation typically goes:
“By the way, did I give you one of our business cards?”
“yes, several”
“oh, well, have another just in-case. Give them to your friends!”
Now after a couple of months relentless instagramming (not sure that’s even a thing) we have nearly 300 followers (thanks guys!!) We wanted to step up a gear as Etsy can be difficult to grow so we started looking for craft fairs to attend. (yeah, because that’ll be easier in our Covid world!)
Happily, we found that there are still some going ahead (at the time of writing) so we signed up to the Sywell Christmas Craft fair (7 – 8th November – tickets still available 😉). Once we secured our place, things got real and it was all-hands-on-deck to begin building some Christmas stock. Not easy as we started this in September giving us only 6 weeks to make enough product to sell, design a stall, make the display fixtures, sort packaging and do the marketing!
So here we are with one week to go to our first ever fair with butterflies in our belly, we are so excited to share this experience with you on our website launch day!
We would love to hear from you, whether it be feedback on our products, sharing your experiences or just to say hi. We are looking forward to building a little community.
So, until next time, take care of each other and stay safe.
Love.
James

]]>That was nerve wracking! This afternoon we were interviewed for the first time as Bosing Designs! I did the talking and Kasia was the emotional support while pointing to my notes and poking my ribs. Despite that I think we did ok, and we have had some lovely feedback too.
It was a bit of a surprise to be approached by the station last week with a request for an interview with Bernie Keith as part of a round-robin with 2 other small businesses. Of course we eagerly accepted regardless of my severe stage fright and so began a week of ever building apprehension and constant rehearsing the answers to every possible question relating to our business.
After accepting the invitation, one of the researchers send me a list of questions and confirmed our time slot. We replied to these in writing. These were to give the team and Bernie some background and allow him to drive the interview and the conversation. Not having done this before I was expecting a question and answer session where Bernie would read out the questions and I would read out the answers. Obviously this would have came across as terrible radio. In reality he used the information I provided to have a conversation about our business. He was really friendly and put me at ease. When I started to falter he took the lead and spoke for a few sentences, this allowed me to gather my composure and follow on with more confidence. The interview wrapped up with loads of plugs and reiterating the website and insta accounts. Brilliant.
My fear was (as always) unnecessary and it worked out well. My advice to anyone having interviews like this for the first time is to trust the professionals - the interviewers know what they are doing and know how to make it all go smoothly and sound good - its their job!
In the end I had a great experience and Bernie was great - bring on the next one!
Now, where's that wine...
